LIVE ON THE LANTEX STAGE · A FEW TIMES A YEAR

The Llano Country Opry.

Traditional country and western, live on the LanTex stage a few times a year. The Heart of Texas Country Music Association puts on the show, brings the guest headliner, and sells the tickets; the Opry band and MC Tracy Pitcox handle the rest. Regulars line up early for the good seats.

WHO YOU'LL HEAR

A house band and a guest with a name

Every show the Llano Country Opry Band backs a headliner the Association brings in. Recent ones include Billy Mata and Texas Tradition, Lisa Layne's Patsy Cline tribute, Colin Dexter, and keyboard man Bode Barker stepping out front. Regulars on the bill include Kaye Tolson, Chris McElrath, Benny Fred Kothmann and Tom Tolson.

Over the years the Association has brought Ray Price, Kitty Wells, Gene Watson, John Conlee, Freddie Hart, Jean Shepard and the Geezinslaws to this stage and its sister theatre in Seguin. Not bad for a room in a town of three thousand.

WHO PUTS IT ON

Heart of Texas Country Music Association

A thousand members strong, grown out of the Hillbilly Hits fan club and the traditional country radio show Tracy Pitcox hosts on KNEL 95.3 out of Brady. Beyond the Llano Opry they run shows at the Texas Theatre in Seguin, a country music museum, and Heart of Texas Records.
