LANTEX Venue

In 2014, the 1927 LANTEX Theater installed a state-of-the-art Digital Projection and Sound system, replacing the 60 year old 35mm projector. The upgrade allows the LANTEX to present first run movies sooner than previously . The quality of image and sound is also superior and more reliable than the old technology.

The LANTEX also replaced its 400 half-century old seating with newer, gently used seating. The new seating is not only more comfortable and attractive, we also incorporated many ADA spaces and wider aisles to accommodate wheelchairs, for the comfort and dignity of our patrons requiring these accommodations.

In addition to movies most Fridays and Saturdays, the LANTEX hosts the monthly Llano Country Opry every second Saturday of the month http://www.hillbillyhits.com/llanoopry.html for schedule, the annual Llano Fiddle Fest, first weekend in April, and occasional special events and theatrical productions. The LANTEX is also the home of the LANTEX Film Society, a partner of the Austin Film Society. During the week, the LANTEX is available to rent for private parties, presentations, small conferences and workshops. To book the LANTEX for an event, please call 325.247.4158, extension 104.

LANTEX Capacity

The Lantex auditorium seating capacity is 400: 320 (counting ADA spaces) downstairs, and the balcony accommodates 80.

The concession

area accommodates

up to four staff.

As the Main Street

Board raises the funds, and/or donations allow, plans call for the addition of arm rest cup holders and new numbering of the seats.

LANTEX Concessions

The LANTEX is a City of Llano-owned facility. Its concession operations are staffed by volunteers from local non-profit groups as well as the Llano Main Street program.

In addition to helping staff the concessions twice a month for a movie and the Llano Country Opry, Llano Main Street volunteers perform general maintenance and upkeep beyond that which the City of Llano provides. These generous individuals give of their time and talent to help keep the LANTEX open and serving the community.

Main Street relies on concession sales to supplement historical preservation projects and promotion in the historical district.
