Description:
This month we have a delightful romantic drama set in a small village in China after the Second World War. The movie tells the story of a young woman who has, so far, turned down all the suitors that her mother had selected for her. When a young teacher arrives in the village to be master of the one-room village school she immediately falls in love. In a small community with strong social customs that stretch back over many centuries it would be unthinkable for her to openly seek his attention. So she must use all her ingenuity to be noticed by him.
A warm and poignant movie. Dialogue in Chinese with English subtitles.
